831L Pipe Profiling Sonar

The 831L sonar is mounted in-front of the Blueye X3 and scans in 360 degree pattern to capture the profile of the pipe. The PipeSonarL software produce a 2D profile of a pipe or tunnel up to 12 meters in diameters. During inspection this allows your to see the ovality of the pipe, detect defects or measure sediment build up.

The DVL A50 can be combined with the PipeSonarL software to act as a cable counter, giving you the data you need to produce a 3D model of the pipe.

Pipe and tunnel inspection in a new compact form factor

The Pipe Profiling Sonar can be used to capture a 2D or 3D profile of a submerged pipe or tunnel to detect defects, document its shape, or measure sediment build up.

A DVL can be used to provide precise odometer data to the Pipe Profiling Software, which will display how far into a pipe or tunnel you have traveled.

The traveled distance, combined with the sonar measurements, can be used to record a 3D point cloud of your pipe or tunnel. The point cloud can be refined and visualized using open source software such as Cloud Compare, offering you a new level of detail and overview of your most critical underwater assets. All from a compact, one person operable mini ROV with unmatched user friendliness and robustness.
